Changing market dynamics have seen a shake-up in the vendors selected by South African resellers as their favourite partners.

This is one of the trends that emerged from the 2016 Channelwise Awards, where resellers were invited to vote for their favourite vendors across a number of categories

In the End User Computing category, HP retained its title for personal computers and workstations, while Dell came out top for mobile computers and Samsung for handheld computers.

HP Inc once again dominated the Printers, Peripherals and Accessories category, being voted top for inkjet printers and multi-function printers, laser printers and multi-function printers, printing consumables and managed print services. Epson took top honours for projectors, and Samsung for monitors.

In Servers, Storage and Networking, Cisco romped home with top honours in switches and routers as well in in wireless networking and PABX/unified communications. Dell and HP shared the winner’s podium for servers, with Dell also winning in storage hardware and storage management and storage virtualisation. VMware won by a long lead in server virtualisation and cloud platform.

The Software category saw HPE once again win, this time for document management software. Microsoft took awards for business intelligence software, customer relationship software, ERP software and software as a service. Paste Payroll again won the payroll and HR software award, with Sage Pastel top in accounting software. Another tie saw Kaspersky Lab and Eset both winning for security software.
