Optoma, a designer and manufacturer of projection and audio products, has formed a new distribution partnership with Mustek, for its operations in South Africa.

Effective immediately, Mustek will bring Optoma’s cost-effective business and IT range of projectors to South Africa and its surrounding regions.

Nick Price, Optoma’s territory manager, says: “We are delighted to announce Mustek as our new distribution partner in South Africa.  With three decades’ experience, Mustek has a great knowledge of the local market and an excellent reputation for supplying high quality global brands which have real synergy with Optoma.”

Mustek’s CEO, David Kan, comments: “We look forward to developing a strong partnership with Optoma, which already has a good reputation across South Africa.  We supply the biggest top tier ICT brands to the country and firmly believe that Optoma, well-known for its high quality projectors, will enhance our portfolio of products and brands that we can offer our customers.”

Product manager at Mustek, Lizette Mclntosh, adds: “Our new Optoma range complements the ICT products that we currently supply, enabling us to offer our business customers the complete solution.”

Mustek will be stocking Optoma’s popular, bright projectors such as the S321, S341 X341 and W331.  These SVGA, XGA and WXGA desktop models are lightweight and portable and offer great connectivity with brilliant image quality.

Optoma projectors use DLP technology, pioneered by Texas Instruments. This uses millions of mirrors to produce high quality imagery which does not suffer colour degradation over time, as sometimes experienced in other projector technologies.
