Targeted at users with ultra-large storage capacity needs who demand high levels of data reliability and security, the new Netgear ReadyNAS 4360X is a high-density rackmount storage system offering up to 1.32 petabytes capacity.

The ReadyNAS 4360X includes Netgear’s ReadyCLOUD solution, enabling an instant, secure VPN-based private cloud to be established for local and remote data access and file sharing.

Key features of the ReadyNAS 4360X include its operating system – ReadyNAS OS – which enables a flexible RAID configuration for performance, reliability and capacity optimisation by offering RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 6, 50 and 60 options.

In addition to supporting a Docker app enabling software developers, businesses and computing enthusiasts to build, run, test and deploy distributed Docker container applications, the ReadyNAS OS automatically installs ReadyDR (Disaster Recovery). This is a backup solution that performs incremental and block-level backup and restore to a second compatible ReadyNAS, ensuring LAN replication of backup files and databases.

The ReadyNAS 4360X boasts a performance-oriented architecture powered by an Intel Xeon E3-1225v5 Quad Core 3.3GHz Processor, along with 16Gb of double data rate fourth-generation (DDR4) synchronous dynamic random-access memory and an error-correcting code (ECC) memory expandable to 64Gb.

It is equipped with four 1GBase-T ports and two 10 Gigabit-per-second network interfaces – either 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) copper or 10 Gigabit SFP+ (on a 4360S model).

Housed in a space-efficient rackmount 4U chassis offering built-in SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) or SATAIII (Serial AT Attachment III) selectable hard disk drive interfaces for all 60 bays, the ReadyNAS 4360X is designed to assist IT managers to optimise cost and performance. The SAS interfaces can connect to three ReadyNAS EDA2000 12-bay or EDA4000 24-bay expansion chassis.
