CompTIA is the world’s largest vendor-neutral certification body, equipping individuals with the skills needed for today’s fast-evolving digital workplace. From foundational soft skills to highly technical subjects, CompTIA certifications are globally recognized as the standard of IT excellence.
“The skills gained through a CompTIA certification provide individuals with a broad understanding of technology—not just one specific product,” explains Loraine Vorster, VP of CompTIA Sub-Saharan Africa. “CompTIA certification means you have transferable skills that can be applied to any product or platform.”
Keeping Pace with Industry Needs
CompTIA certifications are developed in collaboration with industry experts to ensure they remain relevant to the ever-changing technology landscape. Because CompTIA is ISO-accredited, certifications are updated every three years to stay current and reflect the latest industry advancements.
“What sets CompTIA Certifications apart is that the content is driven by the industry,” Vorster emphasizes. “Subject matter experts from around the world define the tasks required for job roles, ensuring that exams accurately assess the skills needed in the industry.”
Practical, Real-World Exams
CompTIA exams use Performance-Based Questions (PBQs), ensuring candidates can apply their knowledge in real-world situations. “If a candidate doesn’t have the skill, they won’t be able to answer the PBQs correctly,” adds Vorster.
Recognized Standards and Industry Alignment
CompTIA works closely with the MICT-SETA (Media, Information, and Communications Technology Sector Education and Training Authority) to align its certifications with SETA standards and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). CompTIA’s qualifications also adhere to international standards such as NICE (National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education), ISO (International Standards Organization), and ANSI (American National Standards Institute).
