Data resilience at the heart of business survival

There are four key structural trends in the industry today, shaping the industry and making the role of IT more challenging.

The first is explosion of data. “In the digital-first world, every company is a software business,” says Brendan Widlake, regional director at Veeam Africa.

Speaking at Veeam Unplugged event taking place in Johannesburg, he say the second trend is vendor lock-in., the third infrastructure complexity, and the fourth the increasing volume and sophistication of ransomware attacks.

AI key for effective security

Artificial intelligence (AI) has a huge role to play in securing our future.

This is the word from Callan Abrahams, principle AI consultant at iOCO, speaking at the Veeam Unplugged event in Johannesburg.

“We spend a lot of time talking about the value that AI will bring to our businesses,” she says. “But all of that advancement and innovation will mean nothing if our businesses are not secure.”
