MiRO has been appointed to distribute Tarana’s next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) solution in South Africa.
G1, billed as the world’s first ngFWA solution, has been deployed by more than 300 operators worldwide to deliver reliable broadband to hundreds of thousands of subscribers. G1-powered operators’ combined coverage footprint now reaches more than 20-million homes and businesses worldwide.
MiRO’s core customers are operators and service providers who build and operate last-mile access networks. Tarana ngFWA addresses growing demand for resilient, scalable fixed wireless access in the region.
The platform’s advanced beamforming, interference mitigation, and adaptive wireless technology help bridge connectivity gaps and enables operators to deliver true carrier-class fixed broadband service.
Reliable high-speed internet is not a luxury, it is a necessity, for both operators and customers alike. Operators are seeing demand outpace their ability to reliably increase capacity without negatively affecting quality, and consumers that are demanding higher speeds with better quality have very limited options.
“Tarana’s proven technology, combined with MiRO’s established reputation for service excellence as a value-added distributor, positions us strongly to help South African operators and service providers deploy next-generation fixed wireless networks with confidence,” says Marco de Ru, MD of MiRO. “Backed by local stock, technical expertise, and certified training, we’re excited to accelerate the adoption of this technology across the region.”
Tarana ngFWA can deliver high-capacity broadband, cut through non-line-of-sight and high-interference environments, and scale to modern demand. In the African context, it delivers more consistent service and higher speeds than fibre.
“MiRO’s Service Provider customers face two pain points at once: building a network today that reliably delivers high-capacity broadband — 100Mbps to 1Gbps — and having that same network scale for the next twenty years,” says Nick Ehrke, Tarana’s Africa lead. “Our ngFWA platform is engineered specifically for fixed broadband — a genuinely different proposition for MiRO and the South African market.”
